Writer's Alcove

Aberrant Endings is a collection of eight short stories that will capture you in the insanity of their world and betray you with the outcome. Below is a blurb of the collection.

Armando’s Coffee

Leo had the intention of stopping off for a relaxing cup of coffee before he made the sales call that could push him over the top. While standing in line, he never realized that buying a coffee for a homeless man would show him his horrible future.

Bathroom Closet

Elizabeth loved her new three-bedroom home with a passion. At least until she felt someone watching her… until she started hearing noises from her bedroom closet… and until the lights began playing tricks on her.

Do It Over

Kenny Patterson knew his doctor wasn’t going to bring his wife and daughter back. He also knew no amount of therapy would convince him that had he been at the store, the car-jackers would have taken his life. But what he did know, if given a chance, he’d do it over again.

Dying Alone

What are the last thoughts that go through your mind when death is tapping you on the shoulder? Do you think of your accomplishments, your failures? What do you believe you’ll see? Paul saw his life, or at least part of it, and what could have and what should have been.

Gentleman’s Touch

Frank Heart took special care of his wife and best friend. Frank Heart also had the magic touch, and in most cases it was a loving touch… but, when he touches you, be sure his touch is with good thoughts. You won’t believe the outcome.

Devin was known around the neighborhood as a forty-year-old malicious deviant who would steal you blind in the blink of an eye. What Devin didn’t know was you really had to be careful who you cheated, especially those who trusted you, because not everyone is worth stealing from. Honest, Honesty is the best policy.

Mother’s Day Brunch

Eaves-dropping. We all do it sometimes. Maybe it’s a word or phrase that grabs your attention; or. maybe it’s the manner. Either way, sometimes we all do it. However, when Bernard listened in, he hears someone plotting a murder. What would you do?

The Train’s Mistress

Have you ever seen a ghost? If you did, could you fall in love with one? (Rated: R)

The Train’s Mistress is my favorite short story, which was conceived on a long flight from Seattle to Dallas. I don’t know why it came to me, tired I suppose, but when I finally wrote it the following weekend it became my favorite.
