The Link

While investigating a money laundering scam within the company where she is employed, Amber Patterson is shot down in cold blood. A Doctor, from the future, awakens her while using her for his research in the development of DNA. When he explains the purpose of his mission, she discovers that it was he who had caused the leap from Neanderthals to Homo sapiens.

The Link was a fun project, and my first collaboration. A somewhat similar storyline was presented to me by a previous co-worker, Bruce Partlow, during one of his sales calls. The story played in my head for nearly a year. I finally put a treatment together and shipped it off to Bruce, and from there we changed the storyline around several times. I then wrote the screenplay. I liked it, and the collaboration was a blast.

Jester The Clown

Jester, the Clown, has a history of seeing ghost. So many ghosts it drives him to the bottle, to murder, to jail, then finally to a mental institute, where he disappears off the face of the earth. At least, until a serial murderer is on the loose and Detective Krisztina Peters of the Dallas Serial Crime Unit, stumbles on to him. As the murder count rises, and Krisztina is at a dead end, she must sober Jester up to catch the monster before she is murdered. However, sobering him up is an impossible task — Jester doesn’t want to sober up. He doesn’t want to see the ghosts. He doesn’t want to witness again and again their horrors, and more importantly, their pleas for vengeance.

Jester the Clown is my favorite screenplay. I ventured into the world of spirit guides and came back a believer — go figure — but what I learned during my research made sense to me. Do you have a Devil or Guardian Angel on your shoulder?

Delayed Flight

Two teenagers are in love, and although too young to be married, Jared proposes. As the evening draws near an end, Veronica becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital. While waiting, Darcy, Veronica’s sister, fabricates a story of sex and drugs to their father, who in a fit of rage, nearly kills Jared and threatens to send him to jail for molesting a minor.

Unable to fight a rich and powerful man, Jared reluctantly goes away, never to see Veronica again, until twenty years later, when he stumbles onto her at a snowbound airport.
